Best Sites

Did you know that many of the news stories that will later become part of the mainstream media can be found days and sometimes weeks in advance on lesser known websites?  The Internet is the most powerful resource of our generation and these sites should help you find information that will drive stock prices.

News Portals

  • Yahoo News
Still the granddaddy of news portals.  A good place to start everyday.

  • 1st Headlines
With a focus on world headlines, this site has top-notch content.

  • News Hub
This portal features financial, technology, world, U.S., science, entertainment and sports news from trusted sources.

  • TechNewsWorld
    The ultimate technology news portal.

News Wires

Technology News

  • EE Times
The best place to find technology trends before they hit the mainstream.

  • InfoWorld
A great "meat and potatoes" site.  Not a lot of fancy appetizers here but the opinion columns are top drawer.

  • PC World
    Technology news for non geeks.

  • Byte Online
Think of this site as PC World with a Masters' degree.

  • Light Reading
One of the sites that gained a big following during the Internet bubble.  Fantastic commentary and always interesting.

  • Nando Times
One of the true independent voices in technology reporting.  Always relevant.

  • Wired
One of the Web originals.  Wired still has an interesting "take" on technology news but you'll have to look beyond the less than logical headlines.

  • News.com
Undoubtedly the finest technology news site on the Web.

Online News Magazines

  • BusinessWeek
The leader of the pack in financial reporting.

  • Forbes
Not the leader but a very close second.

  • Fortune
    O.K., this is number three.

  • Kiplinger
This may seem like your father's financial site but there is always something interesting.

  • Motley Fool
One of the originals.  If you can get past calling yourself a fool its worth the visit.

  • Red Herring
Lots of focus on venture capital.

  • SmartMoney
The poor man's Wall Street Journal.  Usually chock-full of interesting perspectives.

  • Worldly Investor
Don't let the name fool you, this is basically a site aimed at domestic markets.

  • Cnet Investor
The folks at News.com take a stab at financial news and do a very good job.

  • CBS MarketWatch
More of a wire service but lots of great stuff every single day.

  • CNBC on MSN
    Simply the best on-line editorial.

Broadcast News

  • ABC | BBC | CBC | CBS | CNN | C-Span | FOX | MSNBC | NPR | PBS

You probably recognize these  acronyms as those of your favorite television networks.  In most cases, the on-line editions are very comprehensive.
